Note: Not all media assets are editable. If a media element hasn’t been marked as replaceable in Figma (named media), it can only be updated by your designer. Learn more

Swap media

Click on any editable media asset in your slide layout to open the media swap modal. Once open, you can choose between the different media types and select a media replacement accordingly. You can then select a replacement from your media library:
  • Choose the type of media you would like to use
  • Hover over a media file to live preview how it would appear.
  • Click to replace the media file with the currently set media. Changes are auto-saved.
  • Use the reset option in the bottom-right of the modal to revert to the original media placeholder of the template.

Media controls

All images and videos are set to cover by default. This is to make sure that the selected media is always covering its designated area. In case media is not matching the placeholder size, you can manually adjust the visible frame position using media positioning controls.
Adjust the position roughly via the positioning indicator. For more granular control, use the percentage settings.

Video Settings

For video files you can additionally adjust settings to enable:
  • Autoplay
  • Loop
  • Mute
  • Display video controls

Charts

When inserting a chart, it will replace the currently selected media in the layout. Charts are generated based on the values in your data table and the selected chart type. You can also upload files to propogate the chart table in bulk. To use titles and labels in charts, you can make use of the first column and the first row of the data table.

Table guidelines

  • Row 1: Use for data set titles
  • Column A: Use for category labels (e.g. Q1, Q2, etc.)

Chart styling

Charts can be globally styled through the library → charts, including:
  • Font style
  • Color palette
  • Corner radius
  • Grid and line styling
