Updating templates will impact all existing presentations using the template. Changes are irreversible, so proceed with caution.

Updating an existing template

Updating a template allows you to apply changes made in Figma to templates already synced in deckd.

  • Design Changes: All design and layout updates made in Figma will be applied.

  • Content Changes: Only text that hasn’t been edited in the deckd editor will be updated. Any text edits made in deckd will remain unchanged.

These updates will automatically apply to all existing decks using the template, ensuring consistency across your presentations.

To update a template, go to the Template Library, locate the respective template, and check for available updates.

If changes are detected and the template has been used for already existing presentations, a modal will appear. Follow the instructions. Slide changes are categorized in:

  1. updated

  2. removed

  3. added

Review the changes carefully before proceeding with the update to ensure everything is updated and displayed as intended. For example, if a text box has been resized to allow less space, ensure it doesn’t conflict with edited content. Any characters exceeding the new space limit will be hidden.
